LinkedIn Ads Done Right

LinkedIn Ads is expensive but precise. Here is the playbook that produces real B2B pipeline.

LinkedIn Ads is the most precise B2B targeting platform available and one of the most expensive on a CPC basis. The math works only when the targeting is tight, the creative is strong, and the downstream conversion is measured properly. Most LinkedIn campaigns fail one of those three. The teams that get all three right produce strong ROI.

The tight targeting playbook: target by job title (specific seniority and function, not broad ranges), company size (your ICP, not 'all B2B'), and account list (your named ABM accounts), with optional layers for industry and seniority. The smaller the audience (typically 50K-500K matched audience), the better the conversion.

The creative playbook: lead with the buyer's pain, not the product. Use first-person founder voice when possible. Include social proof (logos or quotes) in every ad. Test 3-5 ad variants per campaign and let the algorithm optimize. Refresh creative every 4-6 weeks to combat ad fatigue.

The measurement playbook: connect LinkedIn to your CRM via the native integration, track view-through and click-through conversions, and report on opportunity-influenced (not just lead-generated). The campaigns that look efficient on cost-per-lead are often inefficient on cost-per-opportunity. Optimize for the bottom of the funnel.
